The first step to creating automatic concept maps with Algor Education from your texts is to log in with your personal account from your PC or tablet. If you don't have an account yet, visit algoreducation.com and then click Sign In or go directly to app.algoreducation.com and sign up for free. Once logged in, you will find yourself in your Personal Area, where you can quickly access the main functions of the app and easily manage all your material or maps shared by other users.
To turn your text into a concept map, click on '+ Text to Map', a box will open in which you can enter it.
You will now have to insert the text you wish to synthetise in the form of a concept map into the box. You can write the text directly by hand or copy and paste it from any source: a Word document, a PDF file, a web page such as Wikipedia.
You can choose any text on any topic. The important thing is to paste it carefully into the box, taking care to correct any formatting errors: the better quality of the text you insert, the better quality the map will be. Pay attention to the length of the text: it must be a maximum of 12,000 characters including spaces. For this guide we will use a text on Volcanoes and the Earth's interior. After copying the text from a document, we paste it into the box.
Once you have checked that the entered text is OK, click on the orange 'Create' button. After a few seconds of processing, we obtain our concept map on Volcanoes directly in Algor Education's concept map editor, automatically generated and ready to be reworked.
The map will have a title, in this case "The Volcanoes", macro-topics such as "The Structure of the Earth", "The Structure of Volcanoes", "Life Cycle of Volcanoes", "Types of Volcanoes" and gradually proposes more and more specific sub-topics linked in a hierarchical manner to the nodes above. We warn you that it may contain some uncertainties or omit some topics and we advise you to reread and revise it carefully.
