How to Use the Automatic Summary Feature by Algor Education
In order to test the new Algor feature, you need to have an account. If you are not yet registered, you can do so for free by visiting the official Algor Education website from your browser, directly from your device. At this point, simply click on the "Try now" button at the top right and follow the instructions. Registering with Algor entitles you to 30 AI credits as a gift, which you can use within the app to try its automatic functions. Plus, if you decide to subscribe, you can get up to 1000 AI credits per month, in addition to various exclusive benefits!
2. Choose an automatic function between Text Map and Photo Map
Once you have logged into your Personal Area, you can choose between two options: get the automatic Summary with the Text Map function, starting from a digital text, or with Photo Map, starting from one or more photos. In a few moments, the Artificial Intelligence algorithm will synthesize the contents of the documents you input, showing you both the summary and the concept map.
You will be able to view the Summary and Concept Map in the same window.
Automatic Summary with Text Map
If you have a digital text available, such as a PDF or Word file, and you want to convert it into a summary and concept map, then Text Map is what you need!
To get the automatic Summary through Text Map, you first need to make sure you have a sufficient number of AI credits. In fact, to use this function, you will need 15 AI credits (Find out how to earn additional AI credits!).
Click on the "+Text Map" button in your Personal Area.
Locate the "+Text Map" button in your Personal Area, upload your file or paste it into the appropriate box, and then click "Create". In a few seconds, your material will be ready! You can find the summary file in the "Materials" section of your Personal Area, next to the map file.

Since each map is interconnected with its own summary, you can also access it from the map editing page: simply click on the document page icon located at the top right and select the summary under the "Connected Documents" section. Automatic Summary with Photo Map
If you want to obtain an automatic concept map and summary from your paper texts or handwritten notes, you will need to use the Photo Map function.
In this case as well, the cost is 15 AI credits. You will find the "+Photo Map" button in your Personal Area, next to the "+Text Map" option. You can take photos of the paper contents with your smartphone or tablet by framing the QR code that appears when you click the button. Alternatively, you can upload images already present on your device. After arranging the photos in the correct order, select "Proceed", wait a few seconds, and you're done!
Click on the "+Map from Photo" button in your Personal Area.

3. Customize Your Summary
Just like any other feature offered by Algor, the automatic summary can be customized. Open the page of your summary, reread it, and personalize it to your liking . You can format the text to make it more readable, rework some passages, or delve into others. Once you have finished editing the summary, you can easily transform it into a concept map with just a few clicks, complete with your updates. It's simple: locate the orange button on the left sidebar (see photo) and follow the instructions.
Click on the circled symbol to automatically transform your personalized summary into a Concept Map.
The Algor experience is not limited to just editing automatic resources within the app; by clicking on the download icon in the bottom left, you can also download the summary in .docx format, and consequently print it to have a hard copy version as well!
