The Benefits of Combining Play and Education
Play and interaction in childhood are crucial elements for the proper and healthy development of individuals. In fact, both realities have roots that date back to before postmodernity. For example, Maria Montessori, who lived between the late 1800s and the mid-1950s, an icon of pedagogy, understood the importance of playfulness in children's education from the early months of life because it builds both their cognitive and character development. Gamification is therefore based on solid theoretical foundations of psychopedagogy, also presenting guidelines for the use of play as a teaching method.
