Algor Education: Automatic Concept Maps with AI
For over a year, Algor has been accompanying thousands of students and teachers in the preparation and sharing of educational materials. And not only that: several schools have now decided to purchase Algor licenses dedicated to their students, thanks to the funds of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR).

Algor Education uses AI to create automatic concept maps from a word, a text, or a photo.
Algor Education is an innovative and inclusive web app that uses Artificial Intelligence to assist its users. How? By offering them various functions to create automatic concept maps easily and quickly. Among these are the Text Map, the Photo Map, and the Quick Map, costing - respectively - 15, 15, and 2 AI credits (Learn how Algor's AI credits work). These are not tools that bypass or replace the work and effort of students; rather, their role is to make learning more efficient, in order to support and facilitate the study process. After all, Algor's goal has always been quality learning!
Let's take a closer look at the automatic functions of Algor Education.
With Text Map, you can convert your text into a concept map automatically with a simple click. Select the "+ Text Map" button in your Personal Area, paste the text you want to transform into the appearing box, and click "Create". Thanks to Artificial Intelligence, you will be shown a complete concept map ready to be personalized, printed, and shared in just a few moments.

Click on the "+Text Map" button.
If you are looking for a way to automatically convert your paper texts into concept maps in just a few seconds, Algor is the right choice for you! By choosing the Photo Map function and taking or uploading images of your books, Algor's algorithm will generate a concept map summarizing the content of the pages. It's simple: access your Personal Area, click on the "+ Photo Map" button, upload your photos, and click "Proceed". Your map is ready!
Just like with the Text Map, you can edit the new concept map to your liking, print it, and share it.

Click on the "+Photo Map" button.
With the Quick Map function, by entering a sentence or a keyword, you can obtain a concept map on the chosen topic. In particular, our team's algorithm will generate a series of key questions that will serve as a basis for your map, allowing you to expand it as you wish. For each node, you can use the algorithm again: by clicking on Algor's robot, you will automatically get new insights! To use this functionality, click on the "+Quick Map" button in your Personal Area, enter a brief sentence or a keyword, and select "Create".

Click on the "+Quick Map" button.
By subscribing to Algor Education, you can test these three automatic functions for free thanks to the 30 AI credits given as a gift. But there's more: with the new option Earn Credits, by inviting your friends to join Algor, you can receive extra credits! You can access us from any device through your browser (e.g., Google Chrome). Visit the Algor Education website, start for free, and choose the plan that suits you best!
Grammarly is a software that provides valuable support in writing by scanning your texts and pointing out spelling, grammar, punctuation, and style errors. Additionally, with its correction suggestions, you will be assisted in the text revision process. This tool also relies on Artificial Intelligence, specifically on machine learning, deep learning, and natural language processing. If you want to learn more about how Grammarly uses AI, we recommend you read How We Use AI to Enhance Your Writing, an article on the software's official website dedicated to the topic.

Currently, Grammarly only supports the English language and its different varieties, which vary from country to country (United Kingdom, United States, Canada, and Australia). Despite the resources offered by this powerful tool not being available for the Italian language, Grammarly remains a valuable means to use in learning and improving English, particularly for practicing writing, which is part of the skills required by major English language certifications.
Signing up for Grammarly is completely free, and using the basic features does not require any subscription. To get started, you need to install the PC program or download the app for mobile devices, available for both Android and iOS. Alternatively, you can choose to use the online editor by pasting the text to be corrected in the box. The software also offers its users a Premium plan that allows access to more advanced options.
DeepL is a software that uses Artificial Intelligence to offer its users high-quality translation services. This tool can help students tackle the reading and translation of entire texts, sentences, or vocabulary in 24 different languages. Simply type, paste, or upload the text, choose the source language and target language. In addition to the translation, which often appears in multiple alternatives, you can also view the "Dictionary" option, containing all the essential information about the selected term.

To try DeepL, simply visit the website or download the app from Google Play or the App Store for mobile devices. Alternatively, you can download the Windows or Google Chrome version directly to your PC. Registration is free, and each user can choose between a free plan and three subscription levels. The free option has limitations compared to the software's capabilities but does not restrict the number of texts that can be translated using the appropriate box.
Socratic is a Google mobile application designed to help students in their learning process. Thanks to Artificial Intelligence and the contribution of real teachers, this app provides support in various school subjects, from scientific subjects like mathematics to humanities like history. For example, if you need to solve a math equation and don't know how to do it, you just need to take a photo of it and wait for the software's response. However, Socratic doesn't just provide normal solutions to its users; each answer is accompanied by images, explanations, additional resources, and further insights. This is undoubtedly the most significant aspect of Socratic, especially from a perspective of quality learning.
In this case as well, the app is not available in Italian, so to use it you will need to be familiar with English, or alternatively, use the translation software we just talked about.
Socratic is only available in mobile version, both on the App Store and Google Play, and the features it provides are free.
Solving problems with Photomath
A similar application to Socratic, but available in Italian, is Photomath. As you can guess from the name, this app - thanks to the support of Artificial Intelligence - is specifically dedicated to mathematics and solving arithmetic, algebra, geometry problems, and more!
To use Photomath, you will need to use the camera of your smartphone, iOS or Android. After taking a photo of the problem you want to solve, or choosing an image from your gallery, you just need to wait a few seconds to see the result, but above all the step-by-step process. Alternatively, instead of using the camera, Photomath provides a scientific calculator to enter the problem data directly into the app.
You can find Photomath in mobile version on both the App Store and Google Play. The app offers both a free version and a paid Plus version for those who want more features and insights.
